Hi!
I have some troubles with actual free web hosting, it's starting limiting mysql queries and adding some limitations. So i'm moving the Blight Site to a paid hosting, which offers much better support, security and it's faster.
New link will be http://blight.patriziobassi.it or http://www.patriziobassi.it/blight.
It's ready, just need 2 clicks to be activated.
Of course i can't just kill this site with all links refered...
So i need to activate a mod_rewrite option for apache webserver.
To do this i need 1000 points, i have about 100 now.
On your left you'll find 3 banner (near visitors number).
Clicking on a banner will give me 3 points. About 300 clicks needed.
Please help me to reach legally (i don't wanna do proxy spam or similar bad actions) the 1000 points limit, so i'll move to a better hosting.
I'll gain 0, and i repeat, ZERO euros/dollars from this, only a better service (paid by me!!)

Ho qualche problema con l'attuale hosting gratuito, sta iniziando a limitare le query mysql e sta imponendo delle limitazioni. Cos? sto spostando Blight Site su un hosting a pagamento che offre un supporto, una sicurezza e una velocit? superiore.

Il problema ? che non posso chiudere di botto il sito, con tutti i link appesi..

Eciadsl Driver Update |

i've been very busy working with my friends of Eciadsl project ( Eciadsl website)
I've been working with kolja (and i wanna thank him for his sympathy, kindness and help) to improve performance:
static malloc and pointers, inlining, some gcc tricks and thread...
today i commited a patch with some loop fixes and timing, and this made a great performance
improvement. i'm talking of something like 600%...
infact on my slow cpu (p3 500mhz) cpu usage dropped from 1.4-2.0% to 0.2-0.4% depending on line usage.
all this...for free! actually line seems stable as usual and with good ping timings.
i've done some line quality test from dslreports.com and results are perfect, as you can see from attached image.
Please report any error or problem you can find, faster we testa, faster a 0.12 release can be out, available for everyone.
Enjoy!!!!
UPDATED: someone asked for a snapshot...today's one has another little improvement. stable however.

Waiting for a stable and nice tray lib i wrote this funny HOWTO:

it's thinked for all adsl usb modem (globespan chipset based) users.
Please report errors or faults.
Systray update:
I've completed the 2.4.6 version, with bug fixes (64bit support, a seg. fault) and transparent icon.
Why i don't release it? Because that's a bug somewhere, i suspect in the tray lib.
The bug only occours if you choice to "unload" the plugin, while it's stable for normal usage and normal quit (via xchat functions, or plugins' too).
I'll wait sometime...i wanna release known-bug-free versions.
Mozilla-Thunderbird update:
Recently i switched from Evolution to Thunderbird and i missed a tray integration.
that's MozTrayBiff project but it's only a "new mail incoming" tray. Infact tray disappears immediatly and doens't let you iconify/restore Mozilla/Thunderbird.
I started my personal fork/patch (it depends on upstream devs) and yesterday i got a first working tray. It's very nice 
I'll keep you updated on XChat and Mozilla Thunderbird Tray Integration changes

I'm not dead 
I've been waiting for a really good transparent tray lib. I tried and tested so many ones, did my changes, helped mainteiners...but nothing for months.
Some Gnome devs are still working on it, but now i found a nice working lib.
It's not a real transparent one, but it's a fake one: it copys the background around the icon and redraw it. However, it's efficient and works. No matter how it does for the moment.
The bad news is that the tray system is not backward compatibile.
I'll port xchat plugin to it, but i was worried about all apps using eggtrayicon, that won't port it, or will have a difficult port. I'm sorry, not my fault!
In cvs that's a completly rewritten tray, with new setting tabs, some bug (few!) fixed and some file changes.
I've not planned next release contents. Maybe it will be a major version with cvs + new tray system, or a simple 2.4.5 + new tray. Probably this.
It's up to the time i'll have these days, i'm full of work. I'll open a thread with feature requests if i'll plan a major release.

Ho atteso tanto per una buona libreria per la tray trasparente. Ne ho provato e testato molte, ho fatto delle modifiche, aiutato i mainteiner, ma nulla per mesi.
Ci sono alcuni svilupatori di Gnome che stanno ancora lavorandoci sopra, ma ora ho trovato una buona libreria, funzionante.
Non ? veramente trasparente, ? un fake: in pratica copia lo sfondo intorno l'icona e lo ridisegna. Comunque ? efficiente e funziona, non importa come per ora..
La cattiva notizia ? che il systema di tray non ? retrocompatibile.
Far? il porto del plugin per xchat, ma sono preoccupato per tutte le altre applicazioni che usano
eggtrayicon, che non faranno il port, o comunque avranno un port difficoltoso.
Mi dispiace, ma non ? colpa mia!
Nel cvs c'? una tray completamente riscritta, con nuovi tab per i settaggi, qualche bug corretto (pochi!) e qualche cambiamento per i file.
Non ho programmato i contenuti della prossima release. Forsa sar? una versione "major" con il cvs + il nuovo sistema di tray, oppure una 2.4.5 con la nuova tray. Probabilemente quest'ultimo.
Dipende dal tempo che avr? questi giorni, sono pieno di lavoro. Aprir? un thread di richieste se programmer? una nuova versione "major".
